The MOTTO Museumquartier is definitely worth a visit - it has a modern, cosmopolitan flair with delicious food and great wines.
The hall is huge with high ceilings and enormous lamps hanging from the ceilings, very comfortable couches - quite unique!
It is popular with business people for lunch during the week, locals for dinner who often attend a performance in the neighbourhood or families in the weekends (specially for brunch!) - make sure you reserve if you have evening plans here!
The terrace is a great place to hang out during the day, have coffee and watch the locals hang out on the square (the Museumsquartier is one of our TOP ATTRACTIONS).
The Bar loungefeels a bit 70ies and really cool - great atmosphere in winter if it is too cold to be on the terrace...
The other option is the MOTTO Kunsthalle on Karlsplatz. A loungy terrace outside facing the Karlskirche and the Technical Museum is a little oase in the heart of Vienna. The menue is limited, but modern and contemporary - great for a lunchbreak on the terrace! In case of really nice weather there are also deckchairs right next to the terrace where you will be served drinks and a little something to eat....
In case you choose for the inside option (in winter) be aware that the music is quite loud, so no place for deep conversations. It is more of a student environment after dinner hours....
