The Metropol Theater was first founded at the beginning of the 19th century, more precisely in 1828. Previously, the location was a bakery and was bought off the owner by a Bavarian expert baker. After he got married, the ownership of the future Metropol Theater changed hands, until it ended up hosting balls and other smaller events until finally it became a proper theater for smaller exhibitions. In 1980, the theater underwent a proper reconstruction and it nowadays has 3 different stages where artists exhibit their skills.
Apart from its particularly 'underground-ish' interior and the location outside the city center, the Metropol Theater is definitely a place you want to go to if you are looking for some off-the-beaten path performances and exhibitions.
